We are hard on placemats and these hold up pretty well. Have had them for a few months and starting to loose the thread that is holding the spirals together. We have washed them in the washing machine and dryer therefore the abuse and junk we have placed on them would surely have this happen with the unraveling. For the price, they are much better than the ones at Target for double or triple the price. We purchase two sets knowing that we are hard on placemats!

We bought them expecting simple good placemats. They are terrible because the do not lay flat on the table now matter how long you place something on them to flatten them. They just curl. Very sorry we bought them and will eventually replace them and throw them in the trash.

Very nice set to put under the plates. It's beautiful, I just thought the red was more 'vivid' like 'blood red' but it's kind of a darker tone.

These mats met all my criteria:

1) lay flat with no curling edges;

2) maintain shape;

3) clean easily;

4) look sharp; and,

5) be durable enough to last a while.

I love the color, too (they called it 'leaf', I call it 'sage' whatever... ;-)
