This lapdesk should improve posture too--no more leaning over the table in a stiff chair!
Each side has a small zippered pocket held underneath with velcor, the are about the size two decks of cards.

UPDATE: APRIL 2012Ok, all I said below still stands. Only the first problem--the slippery material on the handrest not stopping the laptop from rolling off-is eminently fixable!!!!
All you need is the 3M Friction tape, conveniently made in black, and conveniently eligible for free shipping by Amazon, for the grand total of $5.08: you put two rows of tape on the sides of the slope, and really, trust me, even at a 45 degree angle, my 15 inch MacBookPro stays put.

The tape looks so good and blends so well with the rest of the materials, you think it was made this way. Don't know for how long it will look good, but even if it frays--which 3M is not known to do--you just pull it off and put a new one.
Awesome! I feel like I have a new, and perfect product!!!
********
This is better than the previous one I tried, since at least it has a wrist rest that is raised, so if the lapdesk is tilted, the laptop does not fall on your lap! Nonetheless, they still rather thoughtlessly made the side of the rest from smooth and slippery plastic which means that just a little more tilt, and off the laptop goes!
Moreover, there is no grip on the surface, so laptop slides off the sides too.
2nd problem: there are no props on the surface, so the laptop is sitting on the fabric surface of the lapdesk. Much better than your comforter or clothes, but still not perfect.
FINAL AND AS SERIOUS, IF NOT MORE:
The plastic edges on the underside of the lapdesk are hard and protrude further out than the Microbead Lap Pads. So if you have it on your lap in bed, the plastic digs into your stomach or your legs or both. The bags should be a little bigger or the edges shorter and rounder. That is really annoying.
So, bad product, except for the alternatives!
