Pros: Product has clear instructions, well packaged, wood is of decent quality. Amazon is always amazing with shipping.

Cons: Pieces don't line up when assembling using the dowels and scews. Large gaps when screwed together shows the actual dowels. Had to take dowels out on one side so it wouldn't look absolutely terrible. Would not recommend.

This desk was rated well on another website. But, the previous reviewer got it right. It takes HOURS and tons of PATIENCE to semi-build this desk. The sizing of the pieces is off. There is nothing you can do about it. There are places you cannot navigate a screwdriver to properly screw the pieces together. The desk top is not seated correctly and, therefore, this desk can never look well made. In fact, there is some evidence that the model in the picture suffers from the same issue at the front corners. It looks like a shadow but that is where the two front pieces are too big and won't allow the desk top to properly screwed in without gaps. The chair for this desk was wonderful and very well made. The desk is not. The bottom of the drawer, back of the drawer and back of the desk are very flimsy, super thin pieces of plastic-like board. These three pieces cheapen this desk as much as the mal-alignment of the manufactured pieces. If this desk weren't so heavy, I would return it. Now, I am putting it on Craigslist to get rid of it rather than sending it back at my expense. Just looking at it makes me disappointed.

Its a beautiful desk but after having it only a week, I noticed that the wood is very soft and writing on a piece of paper with no pad, made an impression of what I wrote, into the top of the desk. I am not happy. Be careful to use a pad when writing.
