Aesthetically, this is a gorgeous casserole. However, it is not just good-looking, it's practical and sturdy. Bakes evenly, with no hot spots or burnt corners, and food releases easily with proper greasing of the pan. I've used it for cobblers, brownies, and for roasting chicken parts and each time the pan cleans easily with only a short soaking needed on occasion (cobbler can get sticky, what with the fruit sugars). It goes through the dish machine, too, which is a plus. Finally, it's nice enough to bring to the table. For those who are interested, it is made in China.
