We had some shelves that had water damage from plants that had been put there, and we wanted something to cover up the damage and still look pretty. We had a hard time finding placements that didn't cost a fortune and were still nice to look at. These did the trick!

I use these as placemats with silver chargers and beautiful china. It mimics the little white flowers on my china and looks like the design has "spilled" over. It is not fine lace, but I wouldn't use fine lace as a placemat. I wash in the washer (front loader) and dry flat. No problems and no wrinkles.
