They say it's a crib that also becomes a day bed and toddler bed except they don't include the conversion kit. And, strangely, it doesn't seem to exist anywhere. It's not on Carter's site, it's not on Babies R Us' site, and not on Amazon. That makes the crib a more expensive proposition than it otherwise seems. Don't fall for it.
As a crib it's great and I really like it for the baby, but we thought it would become her bed until she was a middle schooler. Unfortunately, you can't buy it anywhere that I've seen.
I raised it by one star because I found out that you can get the conversion kit ONLY if you contact the manufacturer directly. The manufacturer isn't Carter they're just putting their name on it. Contact Summer Infant Furniture and you can order it. It has to be through them because this is supposed to be a Babies R Us exclusive so it can't be sold anywhere else nevermind the fact that Babies R Us no longer wants to carry the kit.
So I think this crib would probably be 5 stars if they didn't CLAIM it was a lifetime crib. What you're buying here is not a lifetime crib it's a potential for a lifetime crib. It's a crib that can be more if you go and buy the conversion kit for more money. And, for the record, they are very nice in their customer service department at least the guy I dealt with was very nice.

We received this crib as a gift from my parents along with the matching dresser. the crib was easy to put together, lightweight enough for me to move around the room by myself once it was up and sturdy enough that my, now toddler, can jump around and toss & turn without any problems.
