After buying and subsequently returning many fans due to lack of output, noisiness, and other issues, I finally lucked upon this fan -and I love it! It's got a small footprint, the output is amazing for a fan of its size, and the oscillation is a great feature to find in a fan of this size and in this price range. I highly recommend it!

Small footprint on my nightstand, only used it on low speed. Delivers nice white noise along with a cool breeze since the AC vent is near it. I purchased a second one of these for another bedroom. May add a non-restrictive filter material to the intake area to keep the innards cleaner longer. Satisfied with my purchase.

Don't be put off by what appears to be a small air outlet, the air is diffused so there is more area covered by its breeze.

Honest reviews on Bionaire BT014-U Personal Space Mini Tower Fan

I almost never write a review on an item I did not purchase here on Amazon, but I feel the need to express my opinion.

I have fans everywhere in my home and office. Every major room in my home has a ceiling fan, a necessity in Texas. They run 24/7. They do their job of moving the hot air from the ceiling and assisting with the A/C run time.

I have 9 full size Vornado fans throughout the house. They are my favorite. They move massive amounts of air at a reasonably quiet sound. On high, they are the best white noise without keeping you awake. They are not inexpensive but worth every penny.

However, they do not do the job in my office. There would be papers flying in the air. The best solution for the office was the Dyson. Super quiet and no turbulent airflow. There is a 12" Air Multiplier on the credenza behind my desk and the AM04 heat and cool on a cabinet on the side wall. I never know what the temperature is going to be. It has been as high as 85 in my office and as low as 67. It is the worst A/C system I have ever seen. So a heater that doubles as a fan and a dedicated fan do the trick. I have two more Dyson heat and cools at home for the nights it does get cool here. one in the family room and one in the master bedroom. i can keep the heat on 64 on the main system and the two main rooms of the house are toasty warm. Again, not cheap but exactly what I needed.

I purchased this Bionaire because I had a really tight space in the downstairs half bath. The amount of air it moves is excellent for a small area. I am very pleased with it and it takes up almost no counter space. Place a Glade or Renuzit gel type air freshener behind it and it amplifies the scent so the bathroom smells great no matter who was just in their. Guests always comment on how nice the bathroom smells.

I am stunned at the reviews on almost every fan I have read on Amazon. Fans make noise. How can they not? They are moving air at a high rate of speed. In most cases, you cannot even hear the motor. The sound comes from the blades turning to push the air. Blade design can make a little difference but they all make noise.

If you do not want noise, please do not buy a fan. Your best bet to stay cool is to buy a large tub, fill it with ice and sit in front of it while someone slowly fans you with a paper fan. The ice will need to be replaced every couple of hours and I do not know what it would cost to hire someone as your personal assistant to fan you, but I am fairly certain it would be much costlier than any fan I have mentioned, including the Dysons.

Better yet, design a noiseless fan in your spare time. You would become a multi millionaire overnight. Good luck with that.

Used in work environment (with workers moving around cubicles and general hum of speech).

The product works great as a desk fan. It has 2 speeds, Swivels and has a great directed wind plume.

On its lowest setting -1there is a distinct whine/hum which blends in with the background noise.

However at setting 2 it sounds like a hair blow-dryer and the whine is way too noisy for a work environment.

(I never use this setting since the main purpose is just to keep an airflow around the equipment on the desk top.).

PROS:

Light footprint The wind speed is great on setting 1. The noise level at this is tolerable. Swivels.

CONS: Speed level 2 is way to noisy.
