They are very nice looking. They have an almost 3D look to them. BUT, they really are a weave. I mistakenly thought the weave was a pattern in SOLID vinyl, that would have made them much easier to clean.

When you spill liquid on them the spill goes right through to the table. If you spill something thick, like mashed potatoes for instance, you cant just wipe these with a sponge (like I could do with my old mats), that just pushes the spill into the weave. Then you got to wash them under the faucet to force the food out of the weave. Thats too time consuming... I want something I can just wipe off.

Very trendy, stylish and easy maintenance placemats. These vinyl placemats are easily washable and the texture is same on both sides. So it doesn't matter which side is up. Good for daily use. Value for money. No lining so the strands might come out after daily usage for over an year.

These placemats add visual interest to my countertop. The colors are soft and pleasing to the eye. Good quality and easy to wipe clean. Much nicer than plain vinyl.

I recently purchase these placemats since they look very similar to the Chilewich mats I currently have. The only difference is that the Chilewich are only squares instead of rectangles and the price of course. I paid about $16 for each Chilewich mat as opposed to $16 for a set of four with Benson Mills. I have only had the Benson Mills mat for about a month and I am already noticing a few strands coming out. All in all its great for daily use and for the price you can't beat it, but I will definitely put out my Chilewich mats when I have company over.

I got these in turquoise, and have to admit, was a little nervous ordering them, not knowing what shade of turquoise to expect. Absolutely love them! There are several soft shades of blue and gray, and all of them go great together. It's hard to find a design like this in vinyl. The fact that they are reversible makes it even better. I've given 4 stars since we haven't used them yet and don't know how durable they will turn out to be.
