No smells. The company changed the material and the mat does not emit any odors at all.
I use this mat daily with the accessory Hi Lo switch on Lo. It's on all day long and has been a great product.

Update Oct. 3, 2011: just bought a second mat for a co-worker. Be sure to buy the high low switch if you want to use the mat barefoot or in socks, because high is hot, but low is just right for socks.

I bought this last winter (2004), despite the many reviews warning about the odor emitted, and boy, do I regret it! I thought I could tough it out; most people said the horrible skunk smell would GO AWAY after some time, and, to me, warm feet would be worth a temporary annoyance. As some have suggested, I plugged this in the garage first, to try to burn off much of the odor before bringing it inside. I left it plugged in a large part of the day for about two weeks. The smell was definitely horrible, but I guess because our garage is very large, and far from airtight, the full extent of the noxious odor was not obvious, until I moved it into the office. In just a few minutes, the entire HOUSE smelled like a charred skunk. But it was more than a smell, it was a TASTE as well, and we coughed quite a bit if we tried to stay in the office with it, and I got a horrible headace. I turned it off and decided to give it another week in the garage, this time I left it plugged in all the time. The second try in the office was JUST as bad as the first, and at this point the mat had been "burning off" its smell for over 3 weeks! I stubbornly left the mat in the office for a week, forcing myself to use it, trying to adjust to or ignore the skunk that was attacking my nose with every breath. After all, it REALLY DID keep my feet nice and toasty warm. Finally I'd had it, I couldn't take it anymore. The headaches and permeating odor were simply not worth it. I took the thing and threw it in the garage, unplugged, where it remains to this day. I only wish I had been realistic and sent the thing back when I had the chance. It is an absolute nightmare. By the way, the reason I thought to write this review today is because when I sat down at my desk I was reminded of this mat , as I am every day, because I smelled the lingering, embedded stink of burning SKUNK that it left behind. And this is October 2005, nearly a year later and several carpet cleanings and after it briefly occupied this space. Does it warm your feet? Definitely. This product must be "baked" outside in the sun, plugged in, for about one week. The reason is that the rubber compound emits an obnoxious odor for the first few days of use. I would not recommend it for a foot warmer inside a confined area. My intended use is as a boot drier in the garage. Have you ever seen that Seinfeld where Jerry's car is attacked by BO that doesn't go away, and lingers on anything that crosses its path? This has the same disease. Plus, it was clearly a used item the packaging was repacked and the foot warmer was dirty. Gross, but it's a foot warmer so I thought I'd give it a chance regardless. In its defense, it *does* work my terminally cold wife liked the warm footsy feel; unfortunately she has a sense of smell. The room we had it in is still stinky! I got the office version of this mat, meaning it is carpeted all the way around and doesn't smell. It's called Cozy-Toes Portable Foot Warmer, it has a gray carpeted top. Life is grand with warm feet! No smell at all.

We've had the table for a few months and it already has a six inch crack in the wood top. I had a glass table top made the day it arrived and it's never been used without the protective glass top. How is it even possible for a table top to get a big crack --with a solid piece of glass protecting it??? The styling looks great, I'll admit. Still, would never buy again and I'm wary of buying similar products from this company.

This tablecloth is exactly as advertised. Looks just like the picture, and is nice and spill proof. Water beads up on it so you have a little time to capture spills. It's not plastic, so liquids will eventually soak in, but it's great. Of course, this makes things like ironing it a bit more difficult. After getting it out of the package, it had some solid wrinkles from the folding job. Even after washing it, those wrinkles didn't budge. Ironing was a little tough since water doesn't penetrate as easily, but eventually they all came out. And now it looks great! So if you're OCD about wrinkles like i am, just be prepared to work at the iron for a little bit. otherwise though, it's a great deal.

I bought this tablecloth in the taupe color for Thanksgiving dinner entertaining and was a little hesitant of what I would get for such a reasonable price. It washed well and didn't even need pressing after coming out of the dryer. The color worked out great with my gold-trimmed Lenox placesettings and the tablecloth was of a nice weight not too flimsy yet not too heavy either. I just received this beautiful table cloth today! My 2 year old son is a mucky, sticky, snotty mess maker, and in all of his toddler glory he spilled his milk all over the table cloth within the first 5 minutes of it being on the table. The milk beaded right up, and I was able to wipe away the milk droplets like there had never been a spill in the first place, I am very pleased! However I wouldn't call it Ivory exactly. The Camelia pattern is absolutely lovely and is perfect for spring or anytime for that matter! Vera's quality is always excellent. I'd forgotten that manufacturers could make a tablecloth with a real hem, rather than a serged edge. Even my old and tattered red and white checked tablecloths, which played host to innumerable family meals, had serged edges. It took me two years to find exactly what I was looking for when I finally decided to replace them and I was pleasantly surprised with the unmistakable quality of these tablecloths.
I ordered the rectangular tablecloth first, as the 52"x52" were unavailable. When I opened the package, the first thing I noticed was the densely woven fabric and the hem, with its straight stitching and generous edge. I tossed it into the washing machine on warm and dried it in a hot dryer to check for color bleed and shrinkage, as I don't need high-maintenance table linens, especially for casual dining. The tablecloth passed with flying colors on both counts, so I ordered four of these, along with four sets of napkins.
They look bright and cheery on our patio and we've gotten lots of compliments on them from our guests. I'm placing an order for a couple more rectangular tablecloths to cover the food serving tables and plan to order a set of blue ones later so we can change up the look of our tables. These are an excellent purchase!

I bought this tablecloth and the matching napkins for my round kitchen table. I was planning to have a special gentleman over for a meal and wanted to make it extra nice. Well, he was impressed and I liked the look so much I keep it on the table all the time. It washes easily and goes right back on the table with no ironing. There doesn't seem to be many LapDesk products to choose from so I took a chance on the LapGear product even though I didn't know much about it. I have been using it for about three months now and I am very pleased. The table portion of the LapDesk measures 22" x 12" which leaves plenty of room for a mouse even with my 15" wide Sony Vaio. The wrist rest is solid for good support and the bean bag lap pads are comfortable on your legs. Another nice feature is the curved bottom area which comes in handy since I am a little "rounder" in my belly area, LOL. I have used this lapdesk on my couch and sitting up in bed with great comfort. Also, the plastic is solid and durable and there is no flexing when resting your hand in the mouse area. All in all a great product at a great price.

Once I found the configuration that worked best for me, I have used this lap desk constantly. The configuration for my computer is...expansion/backup hard drive in the pocket on the left, mouse on the right and computer on a riser/support that I already had to give an extra tilt to the keyboard. The other pocket is used for the mouse cover or mouse when it is not in use.I agree with the previous comment that the wrist support is a bit uncomfortable for the arm when using a mouse. However, I have learned to use the mouse very close to the rest so that only the wrist and base of the hand is supported, and now it feels fine.
Also, there are two differences between this model and the one without the mouse pads that are not obvious from the pictures ... this model has the wrist rest that makes it easier to access the keyboard and keeps the laptop from slipping toward you, and there are no depressed pockets in the front near the handle opening for misc. pencil, flash drive, etc. working storage.
Overall, this has turned out to be a very comfortable and useful addition to my work.

I have been looking for a portable desk that I can use for sitting on the laptop in the living room. its a good size, but not really enough room for a normal mouse and a 15.5 inch screen laptop. made really for smaller laptops and thin people. My stomache and the arm rest on both laptop and desk makes the keys about a foot away :P. Good for casual browsing and on the road, but for gaming its a little small if you use the mouse and a game controller or joystick. This desk is a wonderful size, that allows for plenty of room for a laptop and the use of a mouse. The built in mouse pads are very convenient and work very well. This desk is light and comfortable on your legs. The only issue I have with this desk is that the wrist support is not cushioned in any way and can actually be very annoying when using a mouse.
